For over 20 years Mark Ludwig has provided integrated tax, trade and customs solutions to multinational clients across various industries and jurisdictions. From both the strategic and tactical perspectives, he delivers advice and leadership on all aspects of international market access and cross-border movement of merchandise.

Mark has helped large and medium-sized corporations including Alcatel-Lucent, Apple, Caterpillar, HP, Jabil, PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble to develop and effectively manage their global trade activities and customs operations.

Prior to founding Variant Advisors, Mark was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s Worldtrade Management Services (customs & international trade) practice, successfully leading the accounting industry’s largest team of customs and international trade professionals in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.

He is a noted expert speaker and author and has been cited by/published in various global media including The Economist, BNA International, Risk Management Magazine, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Latin American Law & Business Report, The Miami Herald and The Dallas Morning News.

Mark is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker and an active member of several organizations, including the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the United States Council for International Business.

Mark earned his Master’s degree from the University of Miami, a Bachelor’s from Kent State University, and completed post-graduate work at Pennsylvania State University (Supply Chain Management) and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid as a Rotary Foundation Scholar.

In addition to his native English, Mark also speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
